Bio anglais
Bich is my Vietnamese first name.
When I was eight, I had to take a second forename to enrol in French schools. I chose: Rosalie.
So my name is Bich, Rosalie Nguyen.
My approach to art is was inspired by my studies at the Ecole Estienne and the School of Fine Arts in Paris.
Engraving is a demanding craft. I learnt it at the Moret Studio which is a role model in this field.
My engravings arise from an emotional shock.
Work on research, layout and creative space is long, intense and difficult.
Then comes completion and multiple corrections
in order finally to decide and accept that the engraving is finished.
My engravings are meant to be a comfort to souls in torment.
They are aimed at lovers of the furrows which mark their way.
